HOW CAN BODY ALIGNMENT HELP MY SPORTING ACTIVITY ?
Sports such as Hurling, Gaelic football, Soccer, Tennis and Golf, are termed, ipsilateral (predominantly using one side).
These sports are demanding of the body as they can create imbalances between right and left sides.
Because a body alignment treatment realigns the body and is very relaxing, it takes away the stresses and strains of your sporting activities and daily life.
How Does it work ?
Sports such as Running, Cycling and Rowing are demanding of the body in a different way. This is because specific postures need to be maintained for long periods.
A body alignment treatment can be of great benefit for all the above reasons and to relax stressed muscles and joints and restore balance to the body.
Many people report improved performance and recovery in their sporting activity after treatment. This is primarily due to the restoration of proprioception.
In simple terms, when the body is in alignment, the connection from the brain to the body and body to the brain is improved, therefor this improves co-ordination of the reflex thoughts and movement. The result being less wear and tear, and stress on unbalanced joints and muscles.
